Coral Me Later...

Finally a coral nail polish i can stand to look at on me. I dunno if its my yellow undertone or what but, Peachy Keen i wasn't so keen of. Nor Essie's Van D' Go, they looked like barf on my fingers and i couldn't stand to look at them. They were too orangy, and i had to find a cooler coral that was leaning more on the pinky side. Enter Essie's second summer collection full of hot bright colors. Haute As Hello was the color i have been searching for all summer, a bright summery coral. I bought the mini pack which includes Haute As Hello, Pretty Edgy, Knockout Pout, and Demure Vixen (which to me looks like a lighter Paradoxal). And im really excited to try out the rest:)

I'm not into Sparkle (NOTD)

As far as nail polish goes im really picky. I prefer matte finishes cause they let you get away with fun colors without looking trashy and tacky. But I've become the biggest fan of the mixing metals trend and i wanted to express that enthusiasm on my nails!! Sephora for OPI has a new collection out called Rock Chic. Its ok, the mini collection is cute. I did have to snag a color though and try it out, Already Famous. The color is a gold/silver mix which is what i wanted, and its not chunky glitter which is a plus too. The 1st coat is really sheer, and 2 coats wasn't doing anything for me so i put 3:) When in normal lighting, the paint looks just a little mehh uninspiring. But when the sunshine glances off it it does take on a life of its own., sparkles and glimmers like gold!! I would like to compare it to the new OPI Swiss goldy color.

July Favorites and a Return

Hello ladies... boring blog today. I only have two favorites for the month of July. It's only because I'm carrying over things from June and i only have two things to add and one to take away. What I'm adding is Origins Youthtopia in #4, and the blusher of the month has been Nars Deep Throat. What is being revoked is Tarte's Waterproof Matte Bronzer in Park Ave. Princess. I had high hopes for this, but i found through frequent usage it had a film across the top layer. Which you usually find with cheaper cosmetics that like to dupe you into thinking a product is a certain way, but then you take it home had use it and the top part rubs off and your're left with the gritty underneath. I was pretty put off by that especially from this company, and on a $30 product. So it has been replaced. I went to Sephora and reviewed my bronzer choices, Park Ave Princess the original doesn't have a faux top which is good, it does also have a lovely color, but its too shimmery. Nars Laguna, too shimmery too. Benefit Hoola, nice neutral matte will prolly purchase in the future:) Dior, too reddish. Guerlain, not the right shade. Then I saw it...YSL Golden Sand Bronzer my newest love;) Its a lovely golden shade, really soft and smooth to the touch, a subtle gorgeous shimmer, easily bendable, and buildable. I'm really taking a liking to more luxorious cosmetics. Why not? I love it and it really suits me, though its going to hurt my pocketbook. But a little bit at a time wont hurt anything:)

FOTD - Minimalist

I've been really trying to narrow down the products i use on a daily basis. Pixi2woo made a video the other day on a 3 minute makeup look, and she looked great; very fresh faced and light. So i was thinking about what i really needed to put on and still feel confident that i didn't look scary. I have 7 steps, but it could be narrowed down to 6. I absolutely loved this look, simple, natural and lovely.
1. Concealer - Bobbi Brown
2. Foundation - Origins Youthtopia
3. Eye Primer - Mac Painterly Paint Pot (not really necessary)
4. Blush - Nars Madly
5. Gloss - Chanel Pop
6. Powder - Bare Minerals
7. Mascara - YSL Faux Cils

Nars Sheer Glum:(

Hello ladies.... sorry I've been away for a month. July wasn't very motivating for me. Anyways August is here, and its time to dive into a fresh crop of cosmetics starting with a review of Nars Sheer Glow. Everyone and their sister have been raving about this foundation so i had to give it a go. Once i finally was matched up ( it only took 3 times) with Fiji i took it home and put it on my face. Ya and i used a regular flat foundation brush. Probably not the best choice, it streaked and was very hard to blend. So, then i tried my fingers. That helped it sink into my skin more, but since the foundation is so thick and heavy i would stay away from using powder to set it. It sets on its own, or i just swept bronzer over it. It did give amazing coverage and it did look like my face had an inner glow which was really attractive. But, i was getting large painful spots all long my jawline. I surmised it to be the Sheer Glow, it is not oil free, and being more oily in the summer months made face an oil slick. So now im giving the Sheer Matte a try and that is oil free, though its still thick if not thicker than the Sheer Glow and just as hard to blend. Hopefully i dont breakout again:(
